Volunteer Coordinator

OVERVIEW
The Volunteer Coordinator will recruit and manage volunteers. This individual will be responsible for allocating responsibilities with other key PAALS staff members and retaining the best people. Essential to this position is the ability to train, motivate, and inspire. Must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experience.
Our primary goal is to ensure PAALS is always staffed with the best and most reliable individuals, and that they are correctly utilized for the fulfillment of our mission.
Responsibilities:
Source and recruit volunteers through various platforms (databases, email, social media, etc)
Collect information on availabilities and skills
Arrange for appropriate training as needed
Produce schedules for everyday activities
Assign responsibilities to the right people for based on skill sets and interests
Coordinate teams of volunteers for large-scale activities
Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they are satisfied and well-placed
Disseminate information for upcoming actions and events
Maintain detailed records of volunteers' information and assignments
Requirements and Skills:
Proven experience as volunteer coordinator or similar position
Experience in recruiting through various channels
Working knowledge of databases and Microsoft products
Able to communicate effectively with diverse individuals
Excellent organizational and team coordinaiton abilities
Experience in volunteering
Ability to be flexible (and remain composed) when faced with changing needs and schedules
