| "My friends and family call me Julie. I am a college-educated, independent person. I have Friedreich’s ataxia, a progressive neuromuscular disease, and do a lot to remain as active as possible. I enjoy writing poetry, taking photographs, going to the zoo, listening to music, and spending time with friends. A well-loved service dog will help me obtain even better independence, which I value highly. A dog can pick up items that I have dropped, which happens to me frequently. A dog will open doors for me, flip light switches, press elevator buttons, and bring me a cordless phone should I accidentally fall to the floor. With the help of a service dog, I hope to do even more on my own." | To make a donation to help JULIE and her dog, please click on the button below.
